I’m trying out this new thing.
I don’t know if you’ve heard of it.
I’ve been playing video games my whole life, and it was always looked at by most people outside of the gamer community as a solo activity, that wasn’t communicative or community-centric. Heck, I skipped out on holiday events with the family many a time to play video games, especially at high-stress moments in my life. There were times I needed to either play games by myself, or with friends, or with strangers online, to destress, or unwind, or even just have a laugh.
I’m incredibly happy now in my life. So much so that it’s almost difficult to come home and play video games. I still enjoy it though; in fact, the types or genres of games I like sometimes feels as large as the genres of music I listen to. Eclectic is a word I like, and I’m looking to inject that into my game streaming. I want to stream all different types of games, not only based on my mood, or day of the week, but also what my friends want to play with me, or watch me play. I no longer feel like I need to binge DotA 2 to disappear from the world, to simply analyze my options in a game rather than in real life.
I’m a kind of a nerd, but I’m also a little cash-strapped and moving soon, so my stream might not always be up to snuff and could be a little different between work and home streaming. I appreciate any feedback and I know there are some things I need to work on for my twitch, but I’m striving hard to reach Affiliate and Partner status as I get new gear and knowledge along the way. Any views, even if just for one evening, or on your lunch break really helps me out!
For those of you asking about the Twitch specifics, if you’re new to the site I can help you out if you’re interested in supporting me, or another streamer! Once you’re on the stream of the person you want to follow, click the heart on the top right of their video stream. If you’re on a Desktop environment, you should be able to turn on notifications so that you’ll be notified when your favorite streamer is about to hop online.
I’ll be evolving as a gamer as well as in life, in front of you as my audience. I am a DotA 2 lover, but it can be a bit boring to watch if you aren’t familiar with the game. I’ll be branching out, but slowly at first, especially as I’m moving. I’ll likely be buying a newish game soon for my birthday so I’ll have a new game to stream. Here’s my upcoming schedule, tentative because of work/moving taking priority:
Daniel’s Current Twitch Schedule:
Monday-Friday Lunch Stream: 12:10-1:00pm PST – Kingdoms: New Lands
Tuesday and Thursday 5:30-7:30pm PST DotA 2 Hopefully with Friends!
Wednesday: 5:30-7pm PST TBA
Saturday 9-10am – 1pm PST DotA 2 and Coffee!
Sunday 11:00am-4:00pm or later TBA
Games to fill the TBA: Terraria, Don’t Starve Together, Dying Light and hopefully soon Divinity Original Sin 2!
Soon, once I’ve done a trial run, I’ll be offering a weekend giveaway or two to drive up viewership and reward my fans! I would love to get enough followers to eventually stream successfully for a Charity!
